SLY FOX FILMS
Consultancy Services & Film Production

Sly Fox Films reunites producer, Linda James, with director/producer Stephen Bayly, who together so successfully created Red Rooster Films, one of the most successful and prolific drama production companies in the UK independent sector in the 1990’s.

Operating only in high end, quality productions, Red Rooster produced over £60m of programming, including 12 prestigious drama series, 5 TV movies, 2 feature films, 2 documentary series and 3 documentary specials.  In 1994 Red Rooster was acquired by Chrysalis Plc with Linda remaining as Chief Executive for a further 4 years.

Then, after producing the Oscar and BAFTA-nominated RICHARD III and MRS DALLOWAY, Stephen accepted a 5 year term to run the National Film and Television School, the UK’s premiere training academy.  Linda meanwhile became involved in floating a company on the UK’s Alternative Investment Market - Coolabi Plc, of which she is still a non-executive director – and produced two prime-time series, an original TV comedy film, a two-part thriller, and two series of a BAFTA and INDIE award-winning children’s comedy.

In reuniting to form Sly Fox Films, Linda and Stephen are again pursuing their passion for relevant, well-scripted and engaging filmed entertainment. With BBC Films they are developing SLATEHEAD, an adaptation by Tim May of the autobiographies of extreme rock climber Paul Pritchard, and with Media on an adaptation of Helen Oyeyemi’s supernatural novel THE ICARUS GIRL which Stephen is scripting and directing.  Stephen is also executive producer on SKIN with producer Margaret Matheson’ and director, Tony Fabian.

They are also involved in providing consultancy and advisory services to the creative industries.  Since April 2005 Linda has been fund managing the Welsh Assembly Government’s £7m Wales Creative IP Fund, helping to source and structure film, television and new media investments. In this capacity, Linda is executive producing a number of film and television investments, including Peter Greenaway’s ‘Nightwatching’ and David Howard’s ‘Flick’.

Stephen has helped to establish the Actors Temple in London, a training ground for actors specialising in the performance techniques of Sanford Meisner and enjoys an on going involvement with their work and expansion.  Stephen also undertakes teaching and project assessment work for various UK organizations.  In March 2007 he is guest lecturer at the Cuban International Film School and in April 2007 he is guest lecturer at Harvard University in Boston.
